Reggae Artiste Jah Cure has been sentenced to six years in a Dutch prison in relation to an attack on a promoter.

43 year old Cure has the option of appealing the six year sentenced imposed by the Dutch court. This is Cure’s second major criminal conviction. Several years ago he was found guilty of rape by a Jamaican court.

The Behind These Prison Walls singer was found not guilty of attempted murder by the court, which rejected his self-defence claim.

The Dutch court credited Cure for the time he has spent so far in their custody since he was arrested in October last year. Dutch prosecutors say Cure was found not guilty of attempted murder. He was found guilty of attempted manslaughter.

Jah Cure, whose real name is Siccaturie Alcock, allegedly stabbed event promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake on October 1 at Dam Square, in the city centre of Amsterdam
